The Upper East Region has recorded 10 new COVID-19 cases bringing the number in the region to 18, according to a correspondence sighted by Ghana Breaking News
Five were confirmed in the Bolga Municipality.
The correspondence was from the Upper East Regional Health Directorate addressed to the Regional Minister.
Until now, the number of cases reported in the region had been 8, according to the last update given by the Ghana Health Service.
At the last GHS update, twenty-one more COVID-19 patients recovered in Ghana which brought the total recoveries to 155 as of Sunday, 26 April 2020.
Meanwhile, the total COVID-19 cases in Ghana, as of Sunday, increased to 1,550 – up by 271 more cases.
Also, one more person succumbed, which brought the number of deaths to eleven.
Of the 271 new cases, 75 were detected through routine surveillance and 196 through enhanced contact-tracing.
So far, a total of 100,622 tests have been across the country by the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and the Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine.
